I've just had my renewal quote through, my insurance expires on the 17th march and i paid £680 fully comp for the yr, now they want nearly £1200....nearly twice as much.....just had a quote from Adrian Flux...same cover for a car i'm collecting on thursday....bigger engine...later model....£696.....i think Adrian Flux rocks.....and i can pay on monthly installements....which is great....

S plate ford escort modified 1.8SI 115bhp.   £480 (works out £550 with the random charges they stick on top) all mods declaired like for like, 8 years no claims protected, social domestic and pleasure and commuting, 3rd party extension to drive any vehicle, 10,000miles a year. (I am 33 this year tho lol)

Just had my new quote on my insurance for my gti, they put it up nearly 150 to 585  fully comp with breakdown cover ,just been on go compare i can get it for 285 fully comp ,robbing gits ,will change when it runs out in a couple of weeks , i only pay 138 fully comp on my 600cc motorcycle :D

watch that cos with go compair  (and meerkat) I got quotes of £250 less than my renewal, when i rang the companies (I had to for detail confirmation) many of those listed wouldnt touch me because I had "more than 5 modifications" even tho none of them were to my engine.

watch yourself.

£575, all mods declared apart from my new head unit.
I'm the only driver on my policy
21 with 4 yrs no claims
3rd party f&f but going fully comp when my renewal comes through, so it won't be any cheaper than what it is now
:D

£1644 Fully comp with all the trimmings & all mods decalred :rolleyes:
It's quite harsh that insurance can far exceed the value of the car. I love my escort though. So it's worth it.:D
