A4 TDI Sport

Recommended Posts

Had this since December 2011, 1.9 Diesel 130, 6 speed, it's a dark blue looks almost black/grey sometimes. so far I've treated it to

Set of new reg plates as the originals were looking a bit tired

Floor mats (Audi)

Mud flaps all round (Audi)

Decent head lamp bulbs

Double DIN conversion upgrading the stereo to the Symphony 6 Discs changer and cassette, Involved getting another climate control panel off a B7 and swapping over the circuit boards as the heated rear screen won't work using a B7 circuit board for some reason, and the Cage everything sits in and a bit of a trim to centre console were you can't see.

Genuine 18" 9 Spoke alloys with Good rubber, powder coated and still mint 6 months on

I have sprayed the grille frames satin black

Remapped, approx 160-170bhp now

In the process of having a twin exhaust fitted, got a brand new lower bumper spoiler for it, at the body shop ready for fitting just need to drop it off one morning ready for Wednesday when I will be going to Coventry I think for a custom exhaust system made, can't wait !!

Few more with the 18" which were an optional extra at the time and black grilles. Need re-doing now though due to stone chips.

Car has a couple of factory fitted extras such as electric rear windows and cruise control. The colour was a non standard extra, Seems to be quite a rare blue as I must have seen about 5 in this colour

Double DIN conversion, what a ballache. To do and getting the bits together

I upgraded the stereo to the Symphony 6 Discs changer and cassette,

It involved purchasing a double din cage for £40 new, then getting another climate control panel off a B7 which is basically the facelifted version of this, it was the only one I could get cheap enough, everybody else wants £100+ for a worn out scratched unit, well that cost me £60. Because it sits lower down the angle is different as the dashboard centre goes narower towards the centre console. I then had to take the 2 control panels apart with precision screwys to swap over the circuit boards as the heated rear screen won't work using a B7 circuit board in a B6 for some reason, then finally needed a trim to the centre console were you can't see.

Was one thing after an another, all these different items would have been fitted fitted as standard if this particular stereo was requested when new, nothing is simple !

now looks like in the bottom picture, worth it in the end

Ahh I can see em now lol, thats a lovely lookin motor mate suits the wheels well an I love the boot spoiler wouldn't mind one of them subtle ones for my passat. Only one thing..... 10mm spacers front, 15mm rear and sllllllammmm it haha!

Believe it or not fittin the coilies was easier than doin the decat, probably was one of the easiest jobs i've done on the passat lol.

Thanks mate and yeah it is, I ended up with this after failing to find a decent RS2000 last year, my dad persuaded me and don't regret it, All I've had to replace is a wheel bearing on the front. The rest has been buying accessories for it.

Nahhh no slamage for this car ! It's nice and comfortable but handles well at the same time having the sports suspension standard, the wheels fill the arches a lot as it is so i don't think it could be lowered much more, not really into that whole VW trend of lowering a car to the point of scraping the floor, stretched tyres silly stickers, you know the score haha

The passats came with a spoiler I think, not quite as subtle as this one but still rather nice, almost a bit like an Escort one, not quite as big but that sort. The de-cats I've seen are about a tenner and thats what he sells them at, stainless steel too. I was leaning more towards cutting my cat open and removing the monolith inside so it's just a straight through section, also making it perfectly ok for the MOT which states a catalytic converter must be present, which it would be

nice looking motor

looking to upgrade my golf to one of these next year

Thank you, Can get an early B6 A4 TDI now for about £1700, for an SE spec, the last edition diesels the Sport like mine came with the Gmbh body styling kit as fitted to the very first S line model the 1.8T, door blades, different bumpers and sideskirts, and comfier seats. They did these from 2003 - 2005 when the facelift B7 came out. You can pick them up now from about £3500 for an average diesel milage one.

I do like the Bora Highlines though, full leather with same engine, some of the old A6 TDI sports look really nice too, the A4 is based on that pretty much, theres a few good options to choose from

I have slammed mine but not stupidly, it is still a daily car and it's great on the coilies still very comfy, the setup on these cars are awesome they take to lowering really well, no daft stickerss or tyre stretch for me lol, maybe a very subtle stretch to clear the arch lip when i space em but not decided yet lol.

The passats do have a lip spoiler think it was oem but it could have been aftermarket pretty much identical to yours.

Thats bloody cheap for a decat mate stainless too?!? For the passats your usually lookin at £80-£100, does the £10 one include a flex or is it a rigid pipe? U want a flex ideally for obvious reasons lol, tbh on a diesel I've been researching an the general concensus is, because a diesel has no emissions test, only a smoke and noise test, it doesnt have to have a catilytic convertor - even if that is wrong, the position of the cat is right begind the engine on ours so it wouldn't even be visible unless the tester was really lookin for it, basically what I'm sayin is the chances of it failing an mot are slim to nil.

I wouldn't spend too much time looking for a 6 speed as there isn't a great deal of difference between the 5 and 6 speed, the gears are just ever so slightly more spread, thus making you change gear more often lol, if u like I can post the ratios up for you to ponder?

Yeah I came across it the other day, can't remember if it had a flexi or not. A car which was fitted with one has to have one present, but if it's out of site, or if it's covered by the plastic shit shield underneath like this then they would just have to assume that is was there. Not having one dosnt make a difference to the smoke test on the MOT, we have cut loads open becasuse the converter has got blocked and the customer complaining of poor performance

Exactly, mine without a cat doesn't smoke any more than it did before, like U said, it's out of sight as the undertray is obscuring it from sight ad if I remember correctly an mot tester cannot remove any parts?
