Thrust bearings went in my mk4 astra estate and needed a replacement car for work a day on eBay and this came up in Barnsley £350... 1998 ford escort 1.8 Gti 2 previous owners last guy has owned it for 12 years averaging 3000 miles a year hence only having 51000 miles on the clock full service history beautiful

First thing I did was a damn good clean she had been stood a while and was a tad mossy then replaced the rusty old standard backbox

Minor issues thermostat housing seems to be leaking from the lower sensor and a strange metallic rattle from underneath every now and again but only at 2000 revs

Future plans a new bumper a strut brace and would quite like some 17" rs 7 spokes

Really not sure about the red slicone hoses on the air feed do they work or don't they suit

Nice finish on that airbox, considering how bad they are beforehand. Really makes a difference to the engine bay.

Cracking car mate looks in loverly condition and what a bargain :D engine bays mint love the pepper red bits but think the red silicone part clash a little with the p red black would look cool black and im not picking at your car mate but is the parcel shelf supposed to be that colour or has it faded? Could do with a tin of Black spray blown over it :D tell me to fec of if I've came across the wrong way mate

Already looking into black hoses the parcel shelf is meant to be that colour and the paints not bad it getting a new bumper on the front and new rear arches the rest of the paint is good besides a section under the passenger rear lights that's a slightly different shade of black which im also getting done
